8th Championship Show

Judge: Miss Erica Schelfhorst (AUS)
8th March, 2015       Entry – 194

I would like to thanks the SBTCV Inc for the nomination and invitation to judge the 48th Championship. It was such an honour to judge my
own breed and with my own club. Many thanks to my wonderful steward Arthur, who made the day run smoothly.

Thanks must also go to Lauren and Mark who took photos and videos of the dogs on the day. Well done to the committee for all your preparation and work over the weekend and for supplying some fantastic prizes. And finally many thanks to all those exhibitors that entered under me.

There were many fine staffords on show and many more that went unplaced. I felt the quality of staffords is of a very high standard
currently and in some classes it was only the smallest of margins that separated placings. The following critiques are based upon my interpretation of the written stafford standard.

Baby Puppy Dog
1st - Powerpaws Ride the Lightning
Black brindle baby. A mature baby that presents with a super strong head that is broad and deep
through, neat rose ear, dark eye, strong underjaw. Correct front with strong well padded feet. Presents a square balanced outline with a level topline held on the move.

2nd -
Zedistaff Slug The Sloth. Red and white baby, just 3 months old. Correct clean head proportions, very dark eye with pigmentation starting on the eye rims. Neat rose ear and strong underjaw. Level topline, short coupled and compact. Balanced outline and once settled moved very well. First just had a slightly stronger head at this stage.

3rd - Zeracious Starman, Black brindle and white puppy, 5 months. Clean, strong, broad and deep through head with correct proportions, blunt muzzle, scissor bite, dark round eye and neat rose ear. Straight front, ample bone, correct depth and width to front, sitting on top of strong compact feet. Moved well. Preferred the compactness and topline of the first two.
