The Rescue Service was started in 1985. The idea being, that should you lose your dog or find a lost Stafford there would be a central point of contact.

Unfortunately this service provided by the Club is fast becoming one of the most used.

With the increasing popularity of the breed more Staffords are ending up in animal shelters or as unwanted pets .

We shall soon be updating the site regularly with photos and information on dogs currently housed in Rescue with or through the club.

You can contact the Rescue Coordinator Linda Szirer on
(03) 5422 1161 to see if there's a special stafford that you could provide a loving home for!

Tips on finding a lost stafford.

If your Stafford goes missing, contact the rescue co-ordinator immediately. We may have information from one of these organisations about your dog or we may be able to point you in the right direction to assist you in the speedy recovery of your best friend.

Have you or anyone you know ever lost your Stafford?

Where did you go?

Where did you look?

This may include :-

Ringing the R.S.P.C.A. and Animal Welfare League (ring each day and visit with a photo as dogs may be misidentified).

Contact your local council and other councils surrounding your area.

If possible visit council pounds in person as your Stafford may be there - Don't just take the word of the council ranger.

Check with the local vet and other vets surrounding your area.

Report missing Stafford to your local police station.

Advertise in the papers and your local shops.

Check with your neighbours.
